Tourist Reportedly Dies At Taj Mahal After Falling While Taking A Selfie

A Japanese tourist reportedly died after falling down a staircase at the Taj Mahal’s Royal Gate while attempting to take a selfie, the BBC reports1.

The tourist, identified as Hideto Ueda, 66, was apparently with three other people and a local guide on Friday when the fall happened, according to AFP-JiJi,2

“He was rushed in an ambulance to the hospital but he could not be revived,” Sushant Gaur, an officer in Agra, told AFP.”A postmortem was carried out and the cause of death is heart attack.

We have duly informed the Japanese Embassy about the unfortunate incident.”
