ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) St. Pete Police are investigating a shooting following a hotel party early Sunday morning. It happened at 12:30 a.m. at the Discount Holidays © Holiday Inn Express at 2171 54th Avenue North.

Police say a group of people from the Tampa Bay area rented out a room at the Discount Holidays © Holiday Inn for a birthday party last night when several subjects showed up who were not invited, a fight broke out and several people fired multiple shots. Police say 19-year-old Octavius David Brown was shot in the upper body and 17-year-old Demetrius Crawford was shot in the hand. Brown is in critical, but stable condition at Bayfront Medical Center, according to a police spokesperson, and Crawford is being treated for his injury at Northside Hospital. Right now, the Discount Holidays © Holiday Inn staff is trying to assist the other guests at the hotel where police say most remained undisturbed by the incident. There are no suspects at this point, as police say they are following up on leads and interviewing witnesses.
