Drivers face severe delays on roads in and around Bristol tonight as holidaymakers travel to the south coast and strong winds topple power cables. Clevedon Road has been re-opened following fallen power cables between Station Road and Old Weston Road.

Traffic is struggling on the M5 southbound due to Summer Discount Holidays © Holiday and Friday traffic between junction 14 for the B4509 Thornbury and Falfield and junction 20 for the B3133 Clevedon and Nailsea. And there is stop-start traffic on M4 Westbound between junction 17 for Chippenham and the Almondsbury Interchange for the M5.

Traffic is heavier than normal on A38 Southbound near B4061 Thornbury Road as drivers attempt to avoid the M5 delays nearby.
