Rio 2016 Olympic Games champions Laura Trott1 and Jason Kenny2 have been confirmed to appear at the opening round of the 2016 Revolution Track Series3 at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester on Saturday, September 17. The pair won five gold medals between them in the Rio velodrome in August, with Trott becoming Britain s most decorated female Olympian and Kenny equalling Sir Chris Hoy s British record tally of six golds.
Jason and I are really looking forward to coming to the Revolution Series in Manchester and it will be great to see everything from the fans perspective on this occasion, said Trott.
A Revolution crowd is always amazing, and very loud, and we are looking forward to meeting everyone and thanking them for the amazing support they have given us before, during and after the Olympics! We had a very successful time in Rio and it s great to give something back to the Team GB fans who have been incredible. It s going to be a great day and night to remember.
Although Trott and Kenny won t be riding in the event, they will be interviewed in front of the Manchester crowd, and be on hand to meet fans, sign autographs and add their expert opinion to the night s commentary. And for two fans, there s a chance to exclusively meet Trott and Kenny before the event.
Anyone buying tickets to the event will be automatically entered into a draw to personally meet the GB couple.
Other Olympic champions will be taking part5 in the racing on the night, including Ed Clancy, Katie Archibald, Elinor Barker and Owain Doull. Tickets are available to buy for the event via Sky Tickets6, and for further information visit the Revolution Series website7. After the opening round in Manchester, the Revolution Series travels to Glasgow on October 8 for round two, and then back to Manchester on October 22 for the third and final round.
