Over the last 12 months the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) has been working in partnership with Dartmouth Town Council, Dartmouth Green Partnership and the Dartmouth Business Improvement District to help ensure that Dartmouth retains important services such as the Park and Ride, and provides a special welcome for key organisations such as the RHS Britain in Bloom judges. The TIC promotes the town through the national ‘Dartmouth Every Time’ marketing campaign designed to bring more visitors to Dartmouth especially during low season. With a great digital presence, the TIC promotes the town online at www.dartmoutheverytime.co.uk2 and on the Dartmouth Every Time social media pages.

Chair of the TIC board, Angie Cairns, said: “We would like to thank all of the TIC team for their hard work and support in helping us to become a finalist in this independently judged award and we look forward to bringing home another accolade for Dartmouth.”

“This news has arrived at a time when we are facing the annual challenge of agreeing next year’s budgets.

“The financial support of advertisers to our website and brochure will, as always, govern how we can develop 2016 activities so we invite any business that would like to know how we could help promote their business to get in touch.”

Robin Barker, CEO at Services for Tourism added: “This year’s awards saw all records broken with 174 entries (24% up on last year) and over 65 finalists.

“Even more than last year, judges were looking for a digital presence that inspired and informed visitors, with good management of online reputations and active use of social media as well as websites that are effective on mobiles and tablets as well as PCs.

“Judging involved a record 97 visits to businesses often mystery visits and judges were looking for all elements of business to be excellent, with some of them outstanding.

“To be amongst the winners, given the level of competition, is a very significant achievement indeed.”
