Harry Potter star fails to work his magic as Rupert Grint’s hotel fails

Harry Potter star Rupert Grint is hoping to magic1 up some extra cash by renting out his failed hotel as a house. Rigsby s Guest House closed last month with Weasley profits of just 2,000 in four years. Now the Grade-II listed, five-bedroom building is up for grabs at 2,500 per month.

It was bought outright by Rupert s mum and dad Nigel and Joanne for 975,000 in 2003, a year after Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets2 the second film in the series.

While Nigel is the director of Rigsby Guest House Limited, Rupert, 27, who played Ron Weasley3, is its only shareholder.

The 150-a-night boutique guest house opened its doors in Hertford in 2011.

In 2013 it won an episode of the Channel 4 reality show5 4 In A Bed, which sees hoteliers score each other’s properties. But in January a message was posted on the hotel s Facebook page by manager Morris Cockman confirming its closure and thanking guests.
