THE Hoopers have returned from a family trip to France with some Discount Holidays © holiday snaps they will treasure forever more. The family took a break in Brittany and while they were heard the Welsh Euro 2016 team were staying nearby.

Mum Amber said her boys Cameron and Lucas are football mad so they decided to visit the training ground.

They were hoping just to catch sight of some of the players who will be taking on Northern Ireland in Paris in the first knock-out round of the tournament tomorrow. But after the boys were spotted in their Welsh tops the team, including Real Madrid Star Gareth Bale and manager Chris Coleman, went out of their way to make them feel welcome.

Mrs Hooper said: “When we arrived at the training ground the Wales FA staff invited us to have a tour around the Welsh media conference room and the media centre.

“They were so welcoming and absolutely brilliant with the children – all of them offering refreshments to have and to take home.

“After we left the ground we took a trip to the hotel. We met another FA member of staff, Kevin Moon, who was again so helpful and welcoming and invited us back to the training ground the next day to watch the Welsh team train and meet the players.”

As the family from in Pontrhydyfen in Neath Port Talbot sat down in the hotel to have a drink, Chris Coleman walked in and saw the two boys in their Welsh kits.

Mrs Hooper added: “He met and welcomed the children spoke about Wales next game coming up and about the disappointment with the England game, but was more concerned about how the children were, how far we had come and wishing us a lovely holiday. We can honestly say he was an absolute gentleman to us and especially the boys making a big fuss with them.

“After Chris left Gareth Bale and Wayne Hennessey walked in and Gareth stopped to have a photo with the boys and again was a complete gentleman.

“We attended the training session the next day and each had a pass. We got to watch the team train and after the session they came out to have photographs with us and sign autographs each making an effort to talk to us.
