Liverpool FC US tour will set up base camp in heart of Silicon Valley

Liverpool s pre-season tours to far-flung destinations have become an annual ritual now and this year it s back to America for the Reds. The USA has become a regular home for the club in the summer with Brendan Rodgers at the helm for previous visits in 2012 and 2014. With soccer currently flourishing in American and the obvious connections with Boston-based club owners Fenway Sports Group, the trips make enough commercial and practical sense to be worth the upheaval.

So what s Jurgen Klinsmann got to do with it all?

Well it was the former Tottenham striker and now USA football manager who recommended Stanford to Jurgen Klopp. Klinsman used the facilities to prepare his USA team for the World Cup in 2014.
