These restaurants, hotels and attractions have been shortlisted in the UK’s largest celebration of tourism

Restaurants, hotels and attractions are set to be honoured at the UK s largest celebration of tourism – and a few familiar names feature in the shortlist. The annual White Rose Awards, hosted by Welcome to Yorkshire, will see more than 100 businesses1 go head to head across 17 categories. From Large Hotel to Discount Holidays © Holiday Park, and Outstanding Customer Service to Best Restaurant2 – the awards are designed to honour the best in Yorkshire tourism.

And the good news is that businesses within an hour of Teesside are up for some of the awards. They are:

Gisborough Hall

Up for the Large Hotel award

This four star, Grade II-listed country house hotel, is located just outside Guisborough3. It has 39 bedrooms, a ballroom, a spa and an award-winning restaurant.

The Star Inn at Harome

Up for the Inns and Restaurants with Rooms award

Situated a couple of miles outside the market town of Helmsley, this Michelin-starred4 Inn is a renowned name in the UK foodie scene. The restaurant and nine bedroom hotel5, owned by Andrew Pern, has been awarded a number of accolades over the years, including the third best gastropub in the country6 in The Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropub Awards.

Feversham Arms Hotel and Verbena Spa, Helmsley

Up for the Small Hotel award

This hotel is located in the market town of Helmsley. It has 33 bedrooms and suites, alongside a restaurant and spa, which features an outdoor pool and hot tub7.

The Pheasant Hotel, Harome

This country hotel8 overlooks the duckpond in the picturesque village of Harome, just outside Helmsley. It features 16 rooms and an indoor heated pool.

National Centre for Birds of Prey, Duncombe Park

Up for the Small Visitor Attraction award

Situated at the Duncombe Park estate in Helmsley, this attraction boasts the largest and most varied collection of birds of prey in the north of England.

The Coach House at Middleton Lodge

Up for the Yorkshire Restaurant award

These Restaurants, Hotels And Attractions Have Been Shortlisted In The UK's Largest Celebration Of Tourism The Coach House at Middleton Lodge

Situated in the old carriage house of Middleton Lodge in Middleton Tyas, The Coach House restaurant opened in October 2014. It has since gone on to be awarded two AA Rosettes9.

Colin Mellors, chair of the White Rose Award judges, said: Yorkshire s tourism is a remarkable sector with fantastic hospitality, facilities and produce on offer.

“Those shortlisted should feel very proud to have been selected against such strong competition. Choosing the eventual winners this year will be a really tough task. The White Rose Awards will take place in Harrogate on Monday, November 21.
