Inside Liam Williams' luxury five-star Barbados trip with his model girlfriend

Wales rugby star Liam Williams has written a travel review that offers an insight into his recent five-star holiday in Barbados with model girlfriend Sophie Harries. Williams spent 10 nights in the adults-only all inclusive Sandals Royal Barbados resort in the summer and was seemingly blown away by his first trip to the Caribbean. The couple had the service of three butlers to call on, and Williams revealed he watched his Wales team-mates take on Argentina from the comfort of the poolside with a beer in his hand.

And while there were a series of free activities and water sports on offer, the couple chose a more simple form of entertainment. "There were plenty of sports and activities - snooker, yoga, kayaking, boat trips, cricket, you name it - but we didn't take advantage of all of that, though we did play darts," he wrote in the review for the Mail on Sunday newspaper.[1] You can check out the couple's Instagram pictures from the holiday in the gallery below.

"I used to surf, but don't have that much time any more, especially now I'm based in London with Saracens. I did watch a game of pool volleyball but didn't want to go in there because I'd be ultra-competitive and I was on holiday! "I had a couple of weeks off when Wales toured Argentina and the US recently because last year was such a long year for me.

"So Sophie and I just chilled a lot in Barbados or went to the beach. It was nice to switch off. "I sat by the pool with my laptop and watched the boys out in Argentina on TV, a can of lager in my hand... beautiful."

Williams was effusive in his praise for the hotel, where guests pay a minimum of GBP2,119 per person for a seven-night break, making the most of the 17 restaurants, 12 bars, six swimming pools and the outdoor hot tub on his balcony.

He also got out and about, swimming with turtles during a luxury boat trip and visiting an animal sanctuary where he had a monkey feeding out of his hand. "It's a bit different from Barry Island - just a touch! It was so romantic, with great beaches, beautiful sunsets and lots of sunshine - our very own Love Island!" he adds in the review, which finishes with the words: "I'm from Swansea, so we have some good beaches, Mumbles and Rhossili, which are really nice.

But it's not quite Barbados - which is definitely my number one." The couple have been together since 2015, with Sophie working as a model in London. He left the Scarlets just over a year ago to join Saracens and be closer to her.

After a mixed first season, which was hampered by injury, Williams has been a revelation so far this season[2] - scoring a hat-trick in his first appearance and earning rave reviews for his performances.

He is sure to be a key member of the Wales squad for the autumn Tests against Scotland, Australia, Tonga and South Africa.
