Norwegian Cruise Line Launches £99 Flight and Transfer Offers for Summer 2019 Cruises

(11:30 a.m. GMT) — Norwegian Cruise Line is offering UK passengers the opportunity to include flights and transfers on cruise-only fares for just GBP99 extra throughout next summer. The offer allows passengers to add return flights from seven UK airports to three of the line’s five Europe-based ships — Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Epic and Norwegian Pearl — as well as transfers for just GBP99 per person from cruises between May and October.

It will not be applicable to Venice-based Norwegian Star, or UK-based Norwegian Spirit. Getaway[1] will split its summer between Copenhagen and Civitavecchia for Rome; Epic[2] will be based in Barcelona and Pearl[3] will divide its time between Amsterdam and Civitavecchia. Flights will be available from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted airports.

It will also be possible to fly out before the cruise or after it (paying any difference in fare), as long as the cruise portion has been bought. Norwegian Cruise Line[4] has been trialling a similar offer in the US for the past six weeks to great success, according to VP EMEA Nick Wilkinson. “This launched in the US with Norwegian Joy going to Alaska and it was so successful over there — from multiple gateways — that we decided to bring it over here,” he said.

“We feel this is something that really adds value for the consumer and gives them peace of mind. We are confident that this is something that our UK guests will take advantage of.” Harry Sommer, executive vice president, business development, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., ruled out extending the offer further than Europe — at this stage.

“We’d like to start here, have huge success and maybe extend it [the offer] to other European ships. Maybe we’ll extend it to other areas, but let’s start here.” He added: “Our reduced airfare offer is about enhancing our guests’ Discount Holidays © holiday experience by providing even more freedom and flexibility, allowing them a hassle-free way to plan their air and sea travels.”

The offer will go on sale from November 15 for summer 2019 cruises, until January 4, 2019.

Norwegian continues to offer its “Premium All Inclusive” product, which includes Wi-Fi, drinks and tips.
