Haven confirms when it plans reopen parks for summer 2020 holidays

Summer holidays abroad may be a distant memory, but as lockdown restrictions begin to lift in the UK, there is a possibility that Brits will be able to enjoy some sort of trip on home turf. Under government guidelines, holiday parks and resorts in the UK are planning their reopening strategies, with many preparing to open up to the public when it is safe to do so. According to the Mirror, as it stands, Haven is currently planning to reopen its UK holiday parks on 2 July 2020.

Here is the latest guidance about visiting Haven parks for a summer holiday this year.

Can I cancel my Haven summer holiday?

Haven has established a Book with Confidence Guarantee for all 2020 and 2021 bookings. If you cannot go on your holiday due to coronavirus - whether that's because the government has restricted travel, because you're ill or self-isolating, or because you just feel unsafe - you will have a number of options.

You will be able to move your holiday dates free of charge, or if you don't know your new dates, transfer your money into credit to be spent on a future Haven holiday. You will also be able to request a full refund. These options are only available between 28 days and 3 days before your arrival date, so you must decide then if you want to cancel or move your holiday.

What social distancing measures has Haven taken?

Haven has unveiled major changes to its breaks to ensure that customers are safe.

New Haven holidays booked for 2020 will be ' Haven Hideaways ', which unfortunately means that you won't be able to use the swimming pool, enjoy activities or entertainment, or eat in the pubs and restaurants. You will be able to order takeaway food and drinks to enjoy in your holiday home, spend time on the beach, and go on long coastal walks. The on-park supermarkets and launderettes will be open as normal.

If you already have a Haven holiday booked for 2020, you will be able to use the full facilities as normal.

It's only the new bookings that will be Haven hideaways. Haven may open facilities to all customers as the government lifts restrictions. Guests will be contacted four weeks prior to their arrival date and given an update.

With the Book with Confidence Guarantee, they will then be able to cancel or postpone their break if necessary.
