Holiday firms lure nervous Britons abroad with cheap deals

Britons will be tempted abroad by a "flood" of cheap airline seats and package holidays once travel restrictions are lifted, industry experts have said.

Travel companies are already cutting prices by up to two thirds in an attempt to restore confidence and entice holidaymakers to book overseas trips this summer, with more deals expected in the coming weeks.

The sector is gearing up to send tourists abroad as early as next month amid hopes that "air bridges" between Britain and popular tourist destinations, allowing quarantine measures to be bypassed, could be in place.
