City of Fremantle and Water Corporation stage LEGO adventure around Freo these school holidays

If you're stuck for something to do with the kids these holidays, the City of Fremantle has come up with a winner.

They've partnered with the Water Corporation to create a free LEGO adventure around the streets of the old port city.

From Monday July 6 until Sunday July 19, kids can collect an Adventure Trail map from the Fremantle Visitor Centre in Kings Square.

The map will guide them to participating stores in Fremantle's historic west end, where they'll be able to collect the pieces for their very own LEGO toy.

Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt said the initiative promised to be a barrel of fun.

"The Water Corporation has been busy over the past few weeks replacing all the old pipes in the west end as part of the Pipes for Fremantle project, so it's great that they've partnered with the City to support local traders with this fantastic school holiday activity," he said.

"Our little explorers can use the Adventure Trail map to find their way through the streets of Freo and spot the LEGO-themed shop windows to collect the pieces.

"There are six different toys available for the kids to build, but stocks are limited so they should get in quick."

As kids visit each store, they can also collect special stamps for their map.

If they collect all five stamps they can enter the draw to win one of three LEGO vouchers from Toyworld Fremantle.

"They should also keep their eyes peeled for the Water Corporation signs on High Street that highlight some fun facts for kids about the historic Pipes for Fremantle project," Mayor Pettitt said.

In another special treat, kids will have the chance to build their own LEGO masterpiece and watch a live build with Fremantle's very own LEGO Masters Alex Towler and Jackson Harvey.

The 2020 Australian LEGO Masters Champions will be at Fremantle's Kings Square on Thursday July 16 from 10am-2pm.
